1 dead after early morning 2-car crash in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash that happened along Bataan West Memorial early Saturday morning.

Las Cruces police said it occurred around 4 a.m. at Bataan Memorial and Tayvis Road.

Bataan Memorial West was closed from Jornada Road to Sonoma Ranch Boulevard, and the Sonoma Ranch Boulevard exit from Highway 70 West bound was also closed for investigators.

Police are asking the witness that initially reported the crash and any other witnesses to call them at (575) 526-0795.
