Deming Walmart store reopens after bomb scare

DEMING, New Mexico — The Walmart store in Deming was closed for multiple hours Saturday due to a bomb threat.

The store was shut down while Deming police and New Mexico State Police officers, utilizing a bomb-sniffing dog, searched the premises.

It reopened around 1:30 p.m. when law enforcement cleared the scene after finding no signs of explosives.

"Police are investigating (the threat)," said Walmart spokeswoman Delia Garcia.
