Statewide Amber Alert for 2-year-old Texas boy cancelled after body found in dumpster
UPDATE: The statewide Amber Alert was cancelled late Tuesday morning by Texas authorities after a body of a small child matching the missing boy's description has been found earlier in the day in a garbage dumpster in Waco.
Authorities said they were working to officially confirm the identity of the body found. No further details were immediately available.
ORIGINAL REPORT: WACO, Texas —  A statewide Amber Alert was issued Monday evening for a 2-year-old Texas boy who went missing from a park in the city of Waco.
Officials fear the boy may have been abducted and believe him to be in grave danger.
The Texas Dept. of Public Safety said little Frankie Gonzalez was last seen in the Cameron Park restrooms near a bridge around 2 p.m.
Authorities searched the park using a helicopter and drone, while firefighters in boats searched the nearby river - but no there was no immediate sign of the child, ABC affiliate KXXV reported.
The boy is described as 2'6", having black hair and brown eyes and wearing a red Mickey Mouse shirt, grey Mickey Mouse pants, and black and white Nike shoes.
Authorities asked anyone seeing the boy to call 9-1-1 or the Waco Police Department at (254) 750-7500.
