Active cases in El Paso at lowest level since last June; 3 additional virus deaths

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Health Department reported three coronavirus-related deaths and 23 new cases Wednesday morning.

The county's pandemic death toll now stands at 2,609. There are 19 additional suspected Covid-19 deaths currently being investigated by the health department.

El Paso health department data shows 53.2% of El Pasoans 12 years and older are now fully vaccinated, while 67.4% are partially vaccinated.

The number of known active coronavirus infections now stands at 1,095 -- the fewest since June 20, 2020.

There were 87 Covid-19 patients in El Paso hospitals on Monday, with 34 of those patients in intensive care units.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 135,951 confirmed virus cases in El Paso with 132,154 reported recoveries.
