Body recovered at Border Highway and Fonseca; 2 rescued at Pan American water treatment plant
UPDATE: El Paso Fire reports the water rescue team has recovered a body at the Border Highway canal, and the body has been turned over to law enforcement and the medical examiner for investigation.
In addition to the recovery, the water rescue team pulled two individuals out of the water. El Paso Fire officials say there were no injuries in that incident. The individuals were put in US Border Patrol custody.
EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso Fire Department reports a body recovery is underway at Border Highway and Fonseca.
The individual was spotted in the water by US Border Patrol.
This follows yesterday's water rescue operation that recovered one person, but another person who was spotted was not found. It's not clear if these two incidents are related.
The El Paso Fire Department says the body will be turned in to law enforcement for an investigation.
