WATCH: Funeral services for fallen police officer Jacob Arellano

EL PASO, Texas– A funeral mass was held to remember fallen Dallas Police Officer Jacob Isaiah Arellano in his hometown of El Paso Friday morning.

On Oct. 11th, Officer Arellano was involved in a serious crash. He was on his way to work. Arellano later died.

The mass took place at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Socorro, near the high school he attended. 

A plane carrying Arellano’s body was flown into the El Paso International Airport on Thursday.

His casket was loaded into a hearse and a procession followed, escorting Arellano's body to the funeral home ahead of his services.

The burial took place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were present at the funeral services including those from the Dallas Police Department.

The Dallas officers arrived to El Paso in two charter buses.

Those attending the services told ABC-7, Officer Arellano will be remembered as a hero.

One family member who remembers Arellano since he was a child said this is heartbreaking time for the family.
