‘Rust’ film to resume production

(CNN)-- Variety Magazine reports production for the film 'Rust' will pick back up in January.

Friday marks 1year since cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died on set after being shot with a gun fired by actor Alec Baldwin.

Baldwin had been told the gun wasn't loaded, the filmmakers will not return to New Mexico, where the movie was being filmed outside Santa Fe.

There are ongoing workplace safety proceedings and a criminal investigation in New Mexico.

The new filming location has not been determined yet, but it could be in California.

It was announced this month that Hutchins' family reached a settlement with Alec Baldwin and Rust Movie Productions LLC.
