Teen who police say pointed gun at El Paso police officer faces multiple charges

EPPD

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso police have identified the man they say led officers on a chase Monday that ended at Bassett.

Police say, Angel Mosqueda, 18, of northeast El Paso, pointed a handgun at a motorcycle officer conducting a traffic stop at 9700 McCombs due to Mosqueda not wearing a seatbelt.

Police say Mosqueda drove off but was later located by other officers on Spur 601 and Airport Road. While driving off a second time, police say the teen crashed at Montana and Geronimo before running off with a handgun toward Bassett.

Mosqueda faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault on a peace officer, unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of marijuana, evading arrest with a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
