American man with disabilities found after incorrectly deported to Mexico

SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico (KVIA) -- Abraham Alejos has been found. New Mexico State Police updated the public Friday afternoon.

Border Patrol officials say agents found Alejos wandering near Sunland Park. They say Alejos was deported after he incorrectly identified himself to agents. Officials say he allegedly told them he was a Mexican citizen, so he was reportedly sent to Mexico.

Alejos went missing April 29. A Brittany Alert was issued the same day. Brittany Alerts are issued in New Mexico when a person with a developmental disability goes missing.

ABC-7 has been in contact with Alejos' family, who had expanded their search into Mexico before Alejos was found.
