Woman dead after being struck by car Sunday in Downtown El Paso

UDPATE (4/8/26 - 8:24 AM) -- The El Paso Police Department says that 74-year-old Maria Patrocinio Longoria was the pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a car Sunday morning.

According to police, early investigation of the incident revealed a 2011 Volvo was traveling on Texas and made a turn onto Kansas. Police say Longoria was crossing at the 100 block of Kansas at the same time, Longoria was using the crosswalk when she was struck by the car.

EPPD says that a contributing factor in this collision is failure to yield to the pedestrian.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso Police Special Traffic Investigators are on the scene of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in Downtown El Paso.

A police spokesperson says it happened at the intersection of North Kansas St. and Texas Ave.

Police say the call came in at 8:14 a.m.

The intersections of Kansas/Mills and Texas/Campbell are blocked off. No one was sent to the hospital from the scene.
