Dallas Cowboys decide Jason Garrett is done as coach, ESPN reports
DALLAS, Texas -- Jason Garrett's time with the Dallas Cowboys is about to be over, ESPN reported Thursday night.
ESPN quoted a source saying that after showing an "abundance of care and respect," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had decided that Garrett's coaching tenure with the organization is done.
Garrett's contract expires Jan. 14 and his future with the team had been in doubt as the Cowboys missed the playoffs this season by finishing 8-8 for the fourth time in Garrett's nine years at the helm.
The ESPN report suggested an official announcement about the team searching for a new coach was expected soon.
