Underdog takes the win at Sunland Derby
SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico (KVIA) -- In a surprising turn of events, an underdog won the main event at the 18th running of the Sunland Derby Sunday.
Wild on Ice at 35-1 odds snuck past the other six horses and won the race down the straight.
With the 50 points from the win, Wild on Ice will probably now head to the Kentucky Derby.
The Kentucky Derby is set for Saturday May 6th, 2023.
