Nicole Ardila, multimedia journalist

Nicole joins ABC-7 as a multimedia journalist, a visual storyteller who strives to enrich herself and the community with new perspectives.

A Colombian-American from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, right by Miami, Nicole is no stranger to the sweltering heat, a diverse community, and never-ending stories — similar to El Paso's environment and culture.

She graduated from Florida International University in Miami back in 2023, with her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in psychology. Nicole fell in love with learning about the mind, and started talking about mental health wellness and issues. That same year, she was a Washington D.C. correspondent for her university's news station as part of the NBCU Academy fellowship, and covered national stories like the Women's March: Roe v. Wade overturn, online safety issues, and health problems.

During her early career, Nicole has had several multimedia production experiences — she assisted in a documentary production for National Geographic's Shark Week 2023, and was a production assistant for the 2023 Republican Presidential Debate hosted by NBC News in Miami, where she got up close and personal with candidates and moderators.

Always up for an adventure and new scene, Nicole's excited to embark on a new chapter in El Paso and learn about the borderland's proud history, culture, food, traditions and beautiful landscapes every day at ABC-7.
