Uvalde students go back to school for 1st time since attack

Emotions were high in Uvalde, Texas Tuesday as kids returned to school.

It's been just three months since 19 students and two teachers were killed by a gunman at Robb Elementary school. Now that school is not open, and it never will be again. It is permanently closed. Uvalde's Mayor says it will be demolished.

A large memorial of stuffed animals, victims’ photographs and crosses remains outside the scene of one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.

Students who attended Robb Elementary are instead going to other schools until a replacement can be built.

For those kids who went to school, Most of their parents said they had some anxiety which was heightened for some by the sight of state police. Other parents kept their kids home for remote learning.
