Las Cruces firefighters battle night of trash receptacle fires

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- Las Cruces fire investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect or suspects responsible for setting fires in trash receptacles.
 
The six trash receptacle fires occurred overnight between about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, and 4 a.m. Wednesday

All fires were quickly extinguished. There were no reported injuries and minimal property damage.

Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect or suspects in any of these fires is asked to call Fire Investigator Michael Danner at (575) 528-4049. Home or business owners with video footage of suspicious activity near these fire locations are encouraged to call the fire investigator.
