I-10 west at Trowbridge reopens following up to 8-car pile-up
EL PASO, Texas -- Six to eight vehicles were involved in a crash on Interstate 10 westbound at Paisano/Trowbridge on Friday evening, police said.
It wasn't immediately known what triggered the crash shortly before 7 p.m.
A fire department spokesman said two people were taken to hospitals with injuries from the collision; neither were believed to be seriously hurt.
All lanes of the westbound interstate were shutdown due to the collision, with traffic being diverted off at Geronimo for about 90 minutes.
Police said the cars involved were towed away and cleared from the crash scene a bit before 8:30 p.m., allowing for the highway to reopen - although there was a substantial backup that persisted.
