UPDATE, June 15: El Paso police announced Tuesday that they had filed drunk driving-related charges against a motorist involved in a three-car crash last week that left one person in critical condition.
36-year-old Dalila Torres is facing a count of intoxication assault after she crashed her pick-up truck into a minivan which led to a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 10 westbound at the Mesa exit.
According to police, Torres' crash caused the second vehicle to crash into the back of a third vehicle. The passenger in the third vehicle remained hospitalized Tuesday in critical condition.
Torres only suffered mild injuries and was taken into custody at the time of the incident.
Investigators said the crash was the result of Torres being drunk and speeding.
