1 dead, 1 critical from motorcycle crash on Spur 601

UPDATE Sept.6: El Paso police on Monday identified a woman killed and man hurt when their motorcycle ran off Spur 601 into a dirt embankment and then hit a traffic sign over the weekend.

Investigators said 54-year-old Francisco Levario of El Paso remained hospitalized in critical condition, while 49-year-old Margarita Levario died in the crash.

ORIGINAL REPORT, Sept.5: EL PASO, Texas -- One person died and another was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.

The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. at Spur 601 Eastbound at Marshal Ramp, near Fort Bliss.

The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and both the deceased and the injured were riders of that motorcycle, according to police and fire dispatchers.

No other details were provided.
