Storms hammer parts of El Paso

Numerous showers and storms rolled across El Paso Tuesday evening. Many reports of heavy rain and hail, especially across the Lower Valley and parts of the east side of El Paso. The winds also became a concern, with gusts reported just over 60 mph. We received various reports of hail and wind damage along with a downed tree and numerous branches taken down around town.

The El Paso airport only recorded a trace of rain - a few drops in the gauge but not measurable.
