StormTRACK Weather: Sunday storm hits Las Cruces, hazy skies to kick off the week
A strong storm hit the Las Cruces area last night bringing heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and uprooted trees.
The National Weather Service El Paso confirmed that there was an 83 mph peak wind gusts reported at the Twin Peaks reporting station which also caused snapped power poles, many Las Cruces residents were without power last night and this morning.
High pressure will bring drier air and hot temperatures for the rest of the week. Temperatures will run about 5 to 10 degrees above normal. There will be slight storm chances around the higher elevations but mainly dry elsewhere.
