Heavy rainfall keeping Doña Ana County road crews busy

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- Rainfall in and around Las Cruces kept Doña Ana County road crews busy Tuesday, as they worked to clear mud and other debris off the roads. It's the same story Wednesday.

ABC-7 noted heavy impact on the County's dirt roads, some of which were washed out by the heavy rainfall.

Many other roads while passable, had a considerable amount of mud which had slid onto them.

According to ABC-7's weather forecaster Nichole Gomez, a separate line of storms moved over US-70 between Las Cruces and Alamogordo.

Gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain hit the area. This included San Augustin Pass, WSMR HD, and White Sands National Park.

Gomez added that scattered showers do remain in the forecast Monday afternoon, which could cause problems for areas already impacted by heavy rainfall.
