Police Seek Suspects In Theft Of $11,000 Motorcycle
Police said four men lifted an $11,000 motorcycle onto the bed of a pickup and stole from the parking lot of Hiney’s restaurant.
Police said the owner parked his blue 2008 Yamaha outside the popular East Side restaurant, which is similar to Hooters restaurants. When he left about an hour later, he found that his bike had been stolen.
The motorcycle theft, which occurred about 11:30 p.m. June 3 at 8220 Gateway East Boulevard, is the subject of Crime Stoppers of El Paso’s “Crime of the Week.”
Investigators with the Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Task Force reviewed the restaurant’s surveillance video and said they were able to determine that a group of seven people who had been inside the restaurant was responsible for the theft.
Police said four men loaded the motorcycle onto the bed of a truck described as a possibly gray 1994-2001 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab pickup with a lift kit, chrome tube type running boards and star type rims. Three women then met up with the four men and all seven got into the Dodge truck and headed toward Interstate 10.
