Obama campaign more than doubling NM offices
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – New Mexico has fallen off the list of battleground states for the November presidential election but President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign isn’t taking anything for granted.
Obama campaign officials say they will more than double their presence here by opening seven new field offices in New Mexico this month. The new offices will be in Bernalillo, Cedar Crest, Northeast Heights, South Valley, Taos, Anthony and Gallup.
The campaign already has six offices in place. They are located in Albuquerque’s Nob Hill, Westside Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Rio Rancho and Las Cruces.
Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s campaign has eight offices in the state.
New Mexico is seen by many as leaning toward the Democrats in November’s election.
