Teen leads sheriff’s deputies on car chase

18-year old Johnny Vargas was seen changing lanes unsafely at 1:15 a.m. when El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to pull him over. Vargas instead led deputies through a short car chase through far east El Paso.

Vargas disregarded stop signs and made obscene gestures and then fled on foot along with a passenger in the vehicle on the 11500 block of Arrow Rock.

Vargas was arrested on Lee Boulevard and charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana under 2 ounces.
