Annual count of homeless community reveals same trend

The El Paso Coalition went out Thursday morning to conduct it’s annual count of homeless people in the city.

Head Project Coordinator Camille Castillo says the past 10 years have remained fairly constant; the population has fluctuated between 1,300 and 1,400 people.

On Thursday, over two dozen volunteers drove around town with 200 hygiene bags to donate to the homeless people they encountered. They also offered aid through housing, medical and preventative services.
