dozens of high school students took to the football field. this was no game — in today’s estela”s escuelas we take you to the rotc- mid-year drill meet. “cadets shouting schools from the el paso independent school district competed at andress high school. 8 schools with army units and one air force unit faced off. the teams did armed and un-armed drills. we were there for the throws and the rifle exchanges. we got a chance to meet one young woman who says rotc has been more that an extracurricular activity.. . the franklin student had been diagnosed with cancer. she has trouble walking and seeing. but r-o-t-c has helped her fight those disabilitites. sot full “they’ve helped me out improv my seysight. i have a walking disability and and they’ve helped me out a lot. like you would never see .. tha marching actuaslly helped me walk straighter an not limp. ” the director of army instruction told us the the district will soon add a marine unit at coronado high school. boys scouts
