El Paso firefighters battle condition 3 house fire

El Paso firefighters were called to a home in Northeast El Paso early Saturday morning after a fire broke out inside the house.

When they arrived shortly after 6am they found a two story home located in the 5700 block of Rick Husband fully engulfed with heavy smoke and flames pouring out.

Firefighters began battling the flames as first responders searched for any occupants that might be inside the structure, fortunately no one was inside the home .

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within minutes of their arrival.

At this time investigators have determined the cause of the fire was an electrical short that originated in the entryway of the home.

Half of the home and it’s content were damaged or destroyed by the blaze. Fire marshals estimate the damage at $80,000.
