Lane closures expected as city resurfaces heavily traveled roads
The first part of a $20 million resurfacing project on major roads throughout the city is almost done.
According to City Rep. Sam Morgan, the resurfacing of McCombs between Dyer and Railroad should be done at the end of the month.
The city is targeting eight heavily traveled roads to resurface as part of the 2012 Street Capital Improvement Program.
The streets include McCombs, Railroad, Resler, Yarbrough, George Dieter, Viscount, Hawkins and Rojas.
Only lane closures are expected, slowing traffic on those streets, but no full closures are planned.
The next street to be resurfaced will be Railroad.
The city’s goal is to have the project completed by 2020.
It is being funded through City Council-approved bonds.
