Hundreds in Socorro without natural gas service may not see it restored until Saturday
SOCORRO, Texas -- Texas Gas Service said it hoped to begin restoring natural gas service later Friday for hundreds of customers in Socorro, but the company said it may be Saturday before its fully back up and running.
The outage, which began Thursday night, involves about 300 homes and businesses along Bauman Road to Friona Drive.
Texas Gas has not indicated a cause for the outage, but said in a statement Friday: "Please know that we are doing our best to get to everyone as quickly as we can."
The utility said as part of the "relight process" its technicians would be going door-to-door to enter homes for safety checks.
