LAS VEGAS (AP) — A jury in Las Vegas has ended its second day of deliberations in the murder trial of a Democratic former elected official accused of killing an investigative reporter two years ago. The panel ended a full day Tuesday and will return Wednesday morning. Prosecutors say Robert Telles blamed stories from reporter Jeff German in September 2022 for destroying his career, ruining his reputation and threatening his marriage. Telles denies killing German. His lawyer presented an image at closing arguments Monday of a person whose profile didn’t look like Telles’ driving a maroon SUV that evidence showed was key to the crime.
