Man who fell 25 feet from overpass confirmed to be Fort Bliss soldier
UPDATE (4/21): Fort Bliss officials confirm a 25-year-old man who died in a motorcycle crash on Monday in central El Paso was an active-duty soldier.
Officials say Cpt. Ricardo A. Phillips was assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division.

UPDATE: Police have released the identity of a motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries after falling 25 feet from an overpass.
Police say 25-year-old Ricardo Acosto Phillips was speeding on north Piedras when he failed to negotiate a curve and collided with a guard rail, causing him to fall 25 feet from an overpass and land in a gated lot.
Phillips was taken to University Medical Center.
EL PASO, Texas -- One person was left with life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle crash in central El Paso.
The crash happened near Durazno Ave and North Piedras Street around 3 a.m. Monday morning.
Special Traffic Investigators arrived at the scene just before 5 a.m. An investigator on the scene confirmed the victim fell off the Piedras overpass heading northbound.
First responders have not identified the driver. We have reached out for more information.
