EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- EasterĀ is a meaningful time to connect with family and friends, but all of the excitement can also bring expectation, family tension, and elevated stress levels.

Experts have some suggestions for those already feeling emotional exhaustion, headaches, anxiety, or trouble sleeping due to increased holiday pressure.

For one, remember that holidays don't have to be Pinterest-perfect or Insta-worthy. Social media tends to paint an unrealistic picture of what celebrations should look like. Focus on your family, and what this holiday means to you. Letting go of perfection helps you focus on what matters most - your loved ones. If your family is an issue, be prepared for emotional triggers by setting boundaries on how long you can stay, avoiding certain topics, and even taking a "time out" when things get overwhelming.

For some people, Easter is a lonely time. If that is the case for you, realize that it's okay to do less, and spend time reflecting or feeling those emotions. Thoughtfully choose your well-being, and ask for help if you need it. Many times, others would be quick to come to your aid if they know how they can be of service. Remember, the helpline 9-8-8 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
