Blue Man Group bringing new ‘Speechless’ tour to El Paso’s Plaza Theatre
The Blue Man Group is the latest musical act to announce it’s coming to El Paso.
The group is scheduled to perform Nov. 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre as part of their new “Speechless” tour.
Tickets, ranging in price from $30 to $75, will go on sale to the public on Monday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com and at the Plaza Theatre Box Office.
The trademark of every Blue Man Group show is visually stunning multimedia, multi-sensory, interactive performances by three bald men whose heads are completely covered in blue paint.
Promoters say “Speechless will feature new and original compositions, invented instruments and unexpected situations alongside iconic Blue Man Group moments based in joy, art, music, comedy, social commentary and profound absurdity.”
Now celebrating over 27 years, Blue Man Group was formed by New Yorkers Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The Blue Man character emerged from what the trio called “disturbances” on the streets of the city, which then grew into small shows at downtown clubs.
Blue Man Group eventually became a full off-Broadway show at the Astor Place Theatre in New York City. As its popularity grew, shows were expanded to still-ongoing theatrical productions in Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, Fla., Berlin and Norwegian Cruise Lines, along with a North and South American touring company.
