EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Legendary band Kool & the Gang are in El Paso this week for the University Medical Center Foundation's Cancer Care Fund benefit concert.

The concert will happen at the Plaza Theatre Thursday, October 26, 2023. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

Organizers say that 1970s attire is "highly encouraged," although not required.

The UMC Foundation is partnering with Trinity of El Paso's Home Healthcare & Hospice to put on the fundraiser.

Formed in 1964, Kool and the Gang has won numerous awards, including two Grammys, and reached the top of the charts with several hits, including "Get Down on It," "Celebration," "Cherish," and "Ladies Night."
