EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- It's quite the accomplishment for a small business, but Annie Mo's Decorator Warehouse is celebrating 25 years of business! That's 25 years of stringing lights, decorating halls, creating masterpiece showrooms and making El Paso homes and businesses sparkle! Owner Annie Brochu, or Annie Mo, as she's affectionately called, is an accomplished businesswoman. She has a business degree from UTEP, and studied floral and Christmas design under some of the best designers in the country. She enjoys not only helping her customers find the perfect decor, but teaching them insider tips.
"Three things: Your front door, your entryway, and where your food is being served. Those are the places to focus on. If you've done those three things you've done a lot. Don't stress over the rest of it," Brochu advises.
Customers describe her shop as "magical." As her husband Michael says, "Annie Mo isn't just what she does, it's who she is."
Running a small business comes with challenges, and in addition to the norm, Annie has been dealing with health struggles as of late. She has aplaystic anemia, which kept her from opening last year. She will undergo a bone marrow transplant in December. But is her Christmas spirit dampened? Not at all.
"Christmas comes, it's the birth of our Lord, and that's the most important thing to remember. So don't stress. Remember what it's about and make it beautiful," Brochu says.
If Annie looks familiar to our viewers, that's because she has made numerous appearances over the years on "Good Morning El Paso," helping viewers with tips and trends. We wish her best wishes in her health journey.
If you would like to visit Annie Mo's Decorator Warehouse, it's at 155 McCutcheon, off of Redd Road on the west side.
