ABC-7 at 4: Make-A-Wish El Paso is asking for the community to help grant its 1,000th wish
El Paso, Texas (KVIA-TV)—Make-A-Wish strives to grant the wish of every eligible child in the 161 counties we serve in Texas, with boots on the ground in El Paso, West Texas, the Panhandle, and the Dallas-Forth Worth area.
Since our chapter's founding in 1982, they have granted more than 13,000 wishes. According to MAke-A-Wish El Paso, as of today, they've given 981 wishes in El Paso. Across the chapter, more than 1,100 children are waiting for their wishes to be granted.
Specifically, in El Paso, more than 85 kids are waiting for their wishes to be granted. They are nearing our 1,000th wish granted here in El Paso. Casa Auto Group has donated a Ford F-150, and the community has the chance to win through a sweepstakes. All folks have to do is go to driveto1000wishes.org and purchase a ticket for a chance to win the truck.
The truck will be parked at various community events over the next few months — starting with Shoppes at Solana. The sweepstakes winner will be announced at the Walk for Wishes, a family-friendly community event in April. That's where we'll also celebrate the 1,000th wish. Make-A-Wish is 100% locally funded. Donations made to Make-A-Wish El Paso are how they can make wishes come true here in our community.
