City Shuts Eastside Park, E-Coli Found
EL PASO, TX. – The fallout from Storm ’06 continues as a Sun City park on the eastside has beenclosed due to contamination.
City-County Health official founde-Coli atEastwood park, better knownto most residents as Album Park.Doctor Jorge Magana has confirmed to ABC-7 that the city found e-coli atthe now-flooded park this week.
Officials say that pet feces in the park, combined with the runoff from the storms created a dangerous mix.
Dr. Magana tells ABC-7 the park has been closed off, and hospitals have been notified. Officials have also notified the police, who have taped off the park to prevent people from entering the contaminated area.
Officials add that anyone with the following symptoms should get checked: abdominal pain severe cramps, and 24 hours of diarrhea.
