UTEP PD Warns Of Door-To-Door Magazine Scam

EL PASO, Tx. – TheUTEP Police Department is issuing a warning about a fund-raising scam involving door-to-door magazine sales.

The university recently received an alert that a group of people identifying themselves asUTEP students were conducting a door-to-door magazine sales fund raiser recently in various neighborhoods.

Officials say the university programs does not conduct these types of fundraisers. They suggest verifying the legitimacy of any project by calling the identified sponsor.
