Federal Probe Into Health Care Company Includes Another Local School District

EL PASO, Tx. – A Federal probe into a local health care administrator includes yet another area school district.

TheFBI has asked El Paso Independent School District to turn over documents and information regarding Access Administrators and Strategic Governmental Solutions. Both companies handle health care-related billing for EPISD.

Previously, the FBI hadasked the Ysleta ISD to cooperate with its investigation into Access. Earlier this year, YISD’s Superintendent Hector Montenegro testified before a Grand Jury as part of the investigation.

In a written statement, EPISD’s Superintendent Lorenzo Garcia stresses he was told by the FBI that the district is not the focus of the investigation.

Assistant Special Agent in Charge Tim Kinnard tells ABC-7 they’ve been conducting inquiries at EPISD for the past 30 days or so. Mr. Kinnard also saysthat no warrants have been served, as EPISD is cooperating in the investigation.

Agent Kinnard adds there are no allegations of specific wrongdoing that they’re prepared to discuss in public.
