Big Rig Rolls Over Early Saturday, Traffic Tied Up For Hours

EL PASO, Tx. – An early Saturday morning big rig wreck in west El Paso causes huge trafficbackups headaches for commuters.

Police officials tell ABC-7 the wreck happened sometime after5amSaturday morning on I-10 east near the Sunland Park exit.Officers saythe 18-wheeler careened out of control through the guardrails and into an embankment.

Officials tell ABC-7 that theyhave not ruled the wet weather conditions as a possible reason for why the semi truckflippedand spilledsome of its load onto the interstate.

As a result of the wreck, traffic was backed up as crews tried to clean up the wreckage.Crews workeduntil late Saturday afternoon to clear the scene.In addition to the I-10, several other of the major roads in the area were also clogged up temporarily due to the accident.

Emergency officials say that there were no serious injuries reported as a result of the rollover.
