El Paso CBP Agent Arrested, Makes 1st Appearance In Court
EL PASO, Tx. – An El Paso customs officer accused of allowing illegal drugs into the country makes her first appearance in court today.
32-year-old Margarita Crispin hid her face today as she made her way into federal court. Margarita Crispin worked as an inspector at the Paso del Norte bridge downtown. Federal agents arrested her there Friday.
They say that for four years, Crispin conspired to allow more than a ton of marijuana to pass throughthe lanes she monitored at one or more international bridges. Crispin remains on paid leave. If she’s convicted, she could face ten years to life in federal prison.
