Judge Reinstates Convictions For Baby Brianna’s Killers

DONA ANA, N.M. – The New Mexico Supreme Court has re-instated the convictions of two men accused in the death of Baby Brianna.

They are her father Andrew Walters and the baby’s uncle Steven Lopez. Dona Ana District Attorney Susana Martinez tellsABC-7 the justices reinstated the convictions on all charges except conspiracy.

The Appeals Courts had ruled the men’s rights were violated because they were tried together. Five-month old Brianna was abused to death back in 2002. Her mother, Stephanie Lopez is already serving time for her daughter’s death.
