Police Unit Collides With Vehicle In Overnight Crash

EL PASO, TX. – A police unit crashes into a car, sending one vehicle straight into a rock wall.

It happened just after midnight Saturday morning on the 7600 block of Alameda. Authorities say an officer, riding in her marked unit along Alameda, struck anSUV that was trying to turn onto the street and got in the path of the unit.

The patrol car spun and slammed into a rock wall,soon catching fire. Two passengers in theSUV suffered minor injuries, the driver walked away unharmed. The officer was also hurt, her passenger is said to be doing okay. Authorities suspect the driver oftheSUVwas drinking, and charges against her are pending.
