Early Voter Turnout For Election Higher Than Expected

EL PASO, TX – County elections officials tell ABC-7 13,800 early ballotswerecast during early election turnout.

Officials say the numbers are still lower than they expected but more than twice as many as two years ago.

El Paso County Elections Official Helen Jamison says the turnout has been pretty good so far this morning.Onepoling place in west El Paso is averaging about 40 voters a hour, she says.

Jamison also says her office is getting numerous calls from people trying to find out where to vote becausethere were some mistakes in the paper.
