Six Arrested On Aggravated Robbery Charge

EL PASO – Policemade six arrests on Monday in an alleged aggravated robbery case. It happened just before 1 a.m. at a 7-11 store, 5001 Trowbridge.

Cesar Mora, 22, and Jaime Acosta, 20, drove four underage teens to the store with the intent to commit a robbery, police said.

The situation started out as a beer run, police said. Threeof the minorsgrabbed several packs of beer and rushed out of the store without paying,officers said. The store clerk attempted to run after them when he was confronted by a fourth teen,they said.

During the confrontation, one of the youngsters threw a case of beer at the clerk, police said. The impact caused the man to fall back, and he lay injured on the ground, though not seriously.

Police said the youngsters kicked and punched the clerk and went back into the store for more beer, and then they left the scene in a car, occupied by Mora and Acosta.

Based on the information that was circulated via police radio, another officer spotted the suspects driving on Raynolds Street, and signaled for a traffic stop,

The officer learned that the six occupants had been involved in the aggravated robbery, police said. The two adults were booked into the El Paso County Detention facility.

Authorities turned the fourteens to theJuvenile Probation Department.
