Viewers Sound Off On Quintana Arrest
ABC 7 has received numerous emails concerning the arrest on Fridayof East Side City Rep. Rachel Quintana. Authorities formally charged her with a single count of forgery, after she allegedlytried to get a discountedairline fareusing a falsified document.

Regarding Rachel Quintana’s recent forgery arrest and her attorney’s even more absurd claim that Ms. Quintana is being unfairly persecuted, it’s just another example of crooked politicians and people of affluence trying to circumvent the law and unjustly profit from their positions; adding yet another black mark to El Paso’s already tarnished city reputation.
As a future Social Studies and Political Science educator, I think it’sa shame that the only message Ms. Quintana’s forgery, (and her confused lawyer), can give to our kids is that it’s O.K. to break the law, just don’t get caught!
And here I thought our public servants were supposed to be honest, law abiding, and examples of the highest moral turpitude. Shame on me!

Would you and the other television stations get a life. Representative Quintana might be wrong and I said might, but you the media run the story like she murder someone, no wonder people think of El Paso as some small backward town.
Give it a rest, there are other important news stories. The police chief should not put his two cents in the story. Ms Quintana 2006 opponent did not need to be interviewed, what did he have to do with her story. Why haven’t you looked into the FBI investigation of city official, is it that you find that story not to your liking?
Grow up, do some real news.

You ask if we beleive her plea of inocent? Look at her mug shot, her smile says guilty!
The east side residents you interviewed seem to only be concerned with Ms. Quintana. Have they not taken into consideration the supervisor of whosename she forged? Does he deserve the negative attention that she brought on him and how has this affected his employment with FedEx?
What if he had been fired over this? Where would he and his family be? Put yourselves in his shoes before you feel sorry for Ms. Quintana.

On your 6 p.m. newscast, your reporter closed out his report on Rep. Quintana’s arrest with the comment “its a misdeameanor but a very serious misdemeanor at best.” I don’t give a hoot one way or another if the lady is guilty or not but what is the break point between “misdeaneanor and very serious misdeameanor” and is there a “felony or very serious felony” classification as well?
Don’t really care … just curious …

I am appalled about your coverage on city Rep. Rachael Quintana. With all the coverage you have given that story, it would seem that she raped, pillaged and shot everyone in El Paso.
Talk about blowing something so trivial out of proportion. I guess the news business was really slow that day. Give that poor woman a rest.
Your reporters hounded Quintana as if she was Britney Spears.

Howsad the way you humiliated the councilwoman Rachel Quintana upon her arrest. This is a witch hunt and political retaliation toward her for not seeing eye-to-eye with Joyce Wilson and the mayor. Your reporter was to be informative of her arrest. TV reporters are just as bad as the paparazzi.
