2 Border Patrol Agents Indicted
EL PASO, TX. – A Federal Grand Jury indicts two Border Patrol Agents for allegedly shooting a Mexican National.
Charges against 36-year-old Ignacio Ramos and 29-year-old Jose Alonso Compean include:
Assault with Intent to Commit Murder Assault with Serious Bodily Injury Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
The criminal complaint obtainted by ABC-7 states that on February 17th, Ramos and Compean shot at the man as he was running toward Mexico from the Fabens area.
Compean allegedly fired 12 rounds and Ramos fired two. Ballistics confirm a bullet from Ramos’s gun hit the man.
If convicted, the agents could receive sentences of 40 years in Federal Prison.
