Las Cruces Motor Vehicle Crash Turns Fatal

LAS CRUCES- Police officers report that a woman who was injured in a traffic crash has died. It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday at Lohman and San Pedro Streets, police reported in a news release.

A vehicle driven by Mary Sandoval, 26 of Las Cruces, was traveling east on Lohman when it was struck by another vehicle that was traveling southbound on San Pedro, authorities said.

Sandoval was flown to Thomason Hospital by medical helicopter, where she was pronounced dead.

Two passengers in Sandoval’s car were listed in critical condition at Thomason and two others were treated and released in another area hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene of the crash, police said.

Policereportthey know the driver’s identity and are filing charges against him.
