New Mexico: Thanksgiving Holiday Closures

NEW MEXICO – Various services and offices will be closed around Las Cruces and Dona Ana County in observance of the Thanksgiving Day Holiday.

In addition to schools, banks, and waste collection, the services listed will be affected as follows:

Senior Programs centers and services will be closed Thursday, November 22. Thanksgiving Dinner will be served at the Munson Senior Center at 11:00 a.m. Seniors age 60 and older wishing to attend can reserve a seat by calling 575/528-3012. Branigan Libraryand the Bookmobile will be closed Thursday and Friday. The library will re-open for normal business hours on Saturday, November 24, 2007. Solid Waste Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Trash collection scheduled for Thursday will be picked up on Friday. The Recycling Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day, but will resume normal operations on Friday. City museums will be closed Thursday, but the Museum of Art will be open on Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. RoadRUNNER Transit and Dial-A-Ride service will not be available on Thursday. The RoadRUNNER service will offer a ‘fare-free’ day for Friday, November 23, 2007. All city recreation centers will be closed including the Club Fusion Teen Center, the ARC and Frenger Pool.

Most Dona Ana County offices of solid-waste transferwill be closed Thursday and Friday. Emergency services and law enforcement will not be affected.

The closures also affect county stations in Anthony, La Mesa, Hill, Butterfield, Mesquite, La Union, Hatch and Garfield. All of the stations will re-open on Saturday, November 24, 2007.
