Cold Snap Depletes Donated Blanket Supply

EL PASO — The El Paso Fire Department and the Extreme Weather Task Forceare reminding the publicof a need of new, unused blankets to be donated to those who are doing without.

The recent cold snap that brought several inches of snow to the local area has promptedmany needy people to request a free blanket, and now officials report there are no more blankets to distribute.

Theblanketsare especially needed to help children, the elderly, and the infirm, fire officials said.

Anyone who has a new blanket they canspare are asked to drop it off at any local fire station.

Crews said they will make sureeverydonation will go to a someone who needs it.
